ICECI'15 - 2nd International Conference on Education, Culture and Identity
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) opened the II International Conference on Education, Culture and Identity under the name "New trends and challenges of today’s Europe "on Thursday, October 15, 2015. The Conference brought together 140 scientists and researchers from different scientific fields, such as pedagogy, linguistics, literature, art and other. Participants of the Conference include professors and researchers from the region and around the world: BiH, China, Croatia, Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, USA and Ukraine. The ceremony was opened with the speeches of distinguished guests: Advisor at The Federal Minister of Education and Science, Sanela Kuko, as well as IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu. Before the Conference, IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu welcomed the key note speakers at his office where they briefly spoke about the Conference and IUS as well.

ICECI'13 – 1st International Conference on Education, Culture and Identity
The International Conference on Education, Culture and Identity was held at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) from July 6th to July 8th, 2013. The conference was organized with an aim to gather international and local academicians, researchers and experts from various fields to present, discuss and share their ideas, research findings and overall experience. Around 100 international and local academicians and scholars from around the world presented their papers at this conference.
The distinguished guests were greeted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tuba Boz, the Chair of the Conference and Cultural Studies Program Coordinator at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who spoke about the goals and the scope of the ICECI conference, as well as the importance of this conference for IUS, saying that this conference is a result of a successful cooperation of the International University of Sarajevo with Deaken University from Australia and the Erciyes University in Turkey.
The keynote speaker at ICECI Conference was Prof. Dr. Lamija Tanović, a Professor of Atomic and Nuclear Physics and Solid State Physics at the Department of Experimental Physics of the Faculty of Sciences, at the University of Sarajevo, who in her presentation explained to distinguished audience briefly the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the political situation and the consequences of the Dayton Peace agreement. Dr. Tanović specifically talked about the current situation in educational process in Bosnia and Herzegovina and application and results of Bologna Process in B&H. About the importance of education , culture and identity spoke also the European Commission Expert Dr. Willem Kolthof.
